McPHERSON, John A. - Age 82 of Nashville, TN. September 19, 2006.

John was retired from National Life & Accident Insurance Company, as an Assistant Vice President of H&A Claims. He was a referee with the Southeastern Conference and the Ohio Valley Conference for more than 20 years each. In 2001, he was inducted into the TSSAA Hall of Fame.

Survived by his wife, June McPherson; sisters-in-law, Betty Sue McPherson & Evelyn (Ray) Herrera; nieces, Bonnie (Gene) Hoggsett, JoAnn (Frank) Hindsley, Nancy St. Laurent; a nephew, Michael (Suzette) Kavanaugh.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 22, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road, by Wendell Byrd. Interment Spring Hill Cemetery, with military honors.

The family has requested no flowers nor memorials. Visitation will be Thursday 4-8 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel.
