He had worked the Florida-LSU game Saturday.

Officers said his car ran into a bridge near McComb but other details were unavailable.

During his career as an official in the SEC, Cochran made numerous appearances at Vanderbilt's Memorial Gymnasium. The last game he worked in Nashville was the Vandy-Florida game Feb. 3.
