WORTH BRYAN YANCEY SINKS TO LAST SLEEP
Brother of City Attorney Hogan L. Yancey Dies After Long Illness

Funeral Services Will Be Held at Stricken Home Tomorrow Afternoon
At 2:25 yesterday afternoon following an illness of seventeen months, for the greater part of which time he was confined to his room, Mr. Worth Bryan Yancey, aged 33 years, died at the home of his mother, Mrs. Sarah K. Yancey, 420 West Sixth Street. Every possible means was used to prolong his life, including several operations and trips to Eastern specialists, but he has been gradually sinking since he was stricken.
Mr. Yancey was one of the best known young men of Lexington, where the family has resided for many years, and was universally liked. He was a graduate of Bethany College, Bethany W. Va., with the degree of Bachelor of Arts, which he received in 1909, since which time he has resided in Lexington. At Bethany he was prominent in athletics, coaching the football team and playing himself.
Student at Old Kentucky
Before going to Bethany he was a student at Kentucky, now Transylvania University, and was one of the best football players in the State, besides taking a prominent part in other branches of college activity. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity, being an initiate of the chapter located at Transylvania University.
Mr. Yancey has been gradually sinking for several months and hopes of his recovery had been given up. Sunday night he was much worse and it was thought that he could not live until morning, but yesterday morning he rallied slightly, and his death yesterday afternoon was rather unexpected. Of the immediate family, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Sarah K. Yancey, his brother, City Attorney Hogan L. Yancey, and his sister, Miss Leila Yancey, all of Lexingon.
Funeral Tomorrow Afternoon
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the residence, the Rev. Mark Collis of Broadway Christian Church, officiating.
The active pallbearers will be Messrs. Jesse Simpson, Tandy Hughes, Sam Walton, Carneal Kinkead, Ben Bosworth and Dr. J.P. Warren.
The honorary pallbearers will be Messrs. James Slade, Warfield Kinkead, George Cassell, Cecil Cantrill, Estin Spears, Lucien Patton, Keene Daingerfield, Clinton M. Harbison and John T. Vance, Jr.
