Second Basket Ball Game of Series for Championship Honors
By a score of 20 to 15, the Cadet basket ball team from State College defeated the Kentucky University five last night in a fierce contest in the latter's gymnasium. The victory won last night by the Cadet team is the second one of the series of three games scheduled between the two team for the championship honors. A few days ago the Crimson lads were defeated on the State College field by a similar score.
The playing last night was close and it was only during the last few minutes of play that the Cadets rallied and snatched victory from defeat. The score at the end of the first half was 10 to 8 in favor of the Crimson standard bearers. Each member of the opposing teams put forth his best efforts to achieve victory for his favorite colors.
To such an overzealous desire to defeat their opponents manifested markedly upon the part of many players may be attributed many of the wild throws and other poor plays which characterized the game, at times. Foul plays occurred frequently during the progress of the game. As regards team work, both aggregations were about evenly matched.
The individual playing was put up by Wilson for the Blue and White five and Evans for the Crimson boys. Of eight attempts at goal from foul plays, Wilson caged six balls. Campbell, his opponent, only netted four points from thirteen free throws.
Referee and umpire Leo Brewer and Bacon Moore alternated with each half. Scorer, E.H. Lewis; timer J.S. Lusk and W.J. Sweeney. Time of halves, twenty minutes each.

BASKET BALL
STATE and K.U. TO CONTEST
Meet For Second Time Tuesday Night in the University Gymnasium
The second basket ball game in the series between Kentucky University and State College for the season will be played Tuesday evening, the game being the third in the intercollegiate State Championship series. The game will be played in the University gymnasium and will be called at 8 o'clock.
A fierce contest is expected as both teams have been engaged in practice for several days in preparation for this game.
The first contest between K.U. and K.S.C., on January 21, resulted in a victory for the Cadets by a score of 20 to 15, the first half being 12 to 5 in favor of K.U. Evans was forced to abandon the game during the second half and the team was greatly weakened. This game is expected to be much better than the first, which was however, one of the best contests held here this season. Since the first game with K.S.C., Kentucky University has defeated the crack Y.M.C.A. team by a score of 19 to 15, which team has defeated the Cadet team once this season.
The first game was played at the K.S.C. gymnasium, and the third game will be played in the team's gymnasium whose receipts show the largest figure from the games. The balcony in the K.U. gymnasium has been completed, having a seating capacity of more than 150 people.
The game Tuesday night will be the last played by the Crimson team before their trip through Ohio. The team will leave the latter part of the week and will play such teams as Ohio State College, Ohio Wesleyan and others while on their trip.
The line-up for the game Tuesday night will be:
Kentucky University - Forwards, Rupert C. Foster and C.N. Jenkins, center, Richard Heilbron; guards, G.W. Campbell and W.O. Evans.
