WINS THE BASKET BALL GAME
Defeats Kentucky University First Time They Meet by Good Score
State College and Kentucky University met for the first time this season on the basket ball floor Tuesday afternoon, and State defeated their opponents by a score of 20 to 15. During the first half it looked as if K.U. would win the game, and by superior playing they rolled up a score of 12 to 5. Foster and Evans lead the Crimson boys during the first half, and they outplayed the Cadets at all stages. The State boys had difficulty in locating their goal and showed poor team work.
In the second half, however, State came back stronger, and with the good work of Wilson, Barbee, Fox and Shanklin succeeded in running up a score of 15 points. The K.U. boys weakened during their period of play, and Summer was sent in to relieve Evans. A number of fouls were called. About 300 people attended the game.

Defeat K.U. After Having Defeat Staring Them in the Face
With utter defeat glaring the team in the face the State College Cadet lads rallied during the second half and defeated their rivals, the Kentucky University redbirds, by a score of 20 to 15 in the basket ball contest yesterday afternoon in the State College gymnasium. The Cadet boys put up a poor game during the first half, the score being 5 to 12 in favor of the Crimson boys at the end of the first half.
But little spirit was thrown in the contest by either team during the first half. The Cadets failed to put up the team work which their adherents expected them to do. Despite the fact that they were playing on their own floor the Cadets experienced the greatest difficulty in locating the basket. As regards the playing of the Cadet team during this half nothing of the brilliant sort was done.
The Second Half
The second half started with a rush the Cadets fully determined to win at all hazards. During this half the playing was uniform and spirited. The feature of this half was the team work exhibited by Wilson, Barbee, Fox and Shanklin. The Cadets had the wind on their opponents and the Crimson team began to weaken. Sumner was sent in to relieve Evans. During the second half the Crimson team only gained three scores.
Wilson threw seven out of ten goals from foul plays to three out of six for his opponent Campbell. The game was a clean cut exhibition of the sport without any wrangling. The attendance was about 300.

K.U. AND K.S.C. TO LINE UP TODAY
First Local Intercollegiate Basket Ball Game of Season
This afternoon at 4:30 o'clock the basket ball teams from Kentucky University and Kentucky State College will line-up in the first local intercollegiate championship contest of the season. The game will be played in the State College gymnasium and a fierce contest is expected as both teams have been engaged in hard practice for several days. The result of the game can hardly be foretold as the teams are about evenly matched.
While the game is the first contest of the present season for teams in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Association more than ordinary interest is attached to it. Both teams are as good as any in the Association and the Association team defeating State College or Kentucky University will have a good showing for the intercollegiate Athletic honors.
Cadets Beaten by Y.M.C.A.
The Cadet lads were defeated a few days ago by the Y.M.C.A., champions by a score of 29 to 15. The Crimson squad was taken into camp last Saturday night by the same team by a score of 46 to 15. When the game is called this afternoon all students from State College and Kentucky University will be on hands to root for their favorite team.
The officials will probably be Howard Guyn, referee, and White Guyn, umpire. Two 20 minutes halves will be played.
The line-up will probably be Kentucky University - Forwards, Campbell and Evans; center, Heilbron; guards, Foster and McComas. Kentucky State College - Forwards, Shanklin and Post; center, Fox; guards, Wilson and Barbee. The admission will be 25 cents.
