- Jasper Clinton "Clint" Wheeler, Altogether
Jasper Clinton "Clint" Wheeler, 77, of Nicholasville, dedicated husband of Carolyn Newman Wheeler went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 6, 2025. He was born to the late William Godfrey Wheeler and Frances Dee Jenkins Wheeler on July 13, 1948 in Pikeville, Kentucky. Clint loved the Lord with his whole heart, and was a faithful member of the Church of the Savior in Nicholasville.
Clint was a 1966 graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School in Ashland, Ky. He played basketball for the Ashland Tomcats. Clint excelled in athletics, moving on to play basketball at the collegiate level, at the University of Kentucky. He was a member of the UK teams under coach Adolph Rupp and Joe B.Hall. The 1970 UK Basketball squad earned the #1 ranking at the season's end. Clint's brother Bill played football for UK under Paul "Bear" Bryant. His family's roots run deep at the University of Kentucky, including his father's tenure at the university as a professor of economics. He also served in the Kentucky National Guard until 1973. Clint earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky prior to his successful career in pharmaceutical sales.
Clint enjoyed attending UK games with Terry Mills and Stan Key, his close friends and former teammates.
Clint was a gentle giant who deeply loved his family. He devoted his life to his wife Carolyn, and greatly enjoyed raising their dear son Josh, along side her. They enjoyed outdoor activities together, including swimming, boating, and snow skiing. Clint was a devoted husband, beloved father, and dedicated follower of Jesus.
In addition to his loving wife of 56 years, he is survived by their son, Joshua C. (Alison) Wheeler; four grandchildren, Bailey (Nick), Oakley, Brody, and Sadie Wheeler; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his brother, Dr. William Wheeler; sister, Donna Black; and his in-laws Clyde A and Lorraine Oakley Newman.
His celebration of life services will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at the Church of the Savior, 1301 Brannon Road, Nicholasville, KY 40356. There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00. The celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 a.m.
