Y.M.C.A.
WINS BASKET BALL GAME FROM STATE COLLEGE BY 25 TO 17 AFTER HOT CONTEST
At the basket ball game between State College and the Y.M.C.A. teams Wednesday night in the State College gymnasium, the Y.M.C.A. team was victorious. The game was won by fast and furious playing throughout the contest. The crowd was small but enthusiastic, and was given numerous opportunities to applaud their favorite teams. The game was exciting and hotly contested from the very start, and at the end of the first half there was only one point difference in the score.
State College seemed to outclass their opponents in the first half, but this is attributed to the absence of Elliott, who did not play in the first half on account of his injured hand.
He got into the game in the second half and helped his team greatly by his good playing. The playing as a whole was of a high standard and showed that both aggregations were teams of ability.
The next game will be played Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock when the State College team will line up against the strong team from Georgetown College in the State College gymnasium.
Game Writeup - Lexington Herald
Y.M.C.A. WINS OVER STATE COLLEGE TEAM
In an exciting and hotly contested basket ball game, State College went down in defeat at the hands of the Y.M.C.A. team in the State College gymnasium last night. The crowd though small, was enthusiastic and were given numerous opportunities to applaud their team.
From the very start the game was fast and furious and so closely matched were the teams that at the end of the first half there was only one point difference in the score.
State College seemed to outclass their opponents in the first half, their team work being of a higher standard, but this is attributed to the absence of Elliott, who did not play in that half on account of an injury to his hand. He got into the game in the second half, however, and helped his team greatly by his good playing.
The similarity of the suits worn by both teams caused some inconvenience to both sides, but the playing as a whole was of a higher standard and stamps both aggregations as teams of unlimited ability. The Y.M.C.A. outclassed State College in the second half and rapidly placed the score in their favor. Wilson was the star for State while each man played a good individual, as well as mechanical game for the Y.M.C.A.
The next game will be played Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock when the State College team will line-up against the strong team from Georgetown College, in the State College gymnasium. A warm game is expected.

The victory of the Y.M.C.A. aggregation over the K.U. team a week ago stamps them as being of high class material, and they are now looked upon as equal favorites with Georgetown in the race for the State championship.
At a meeting of the Captains of the two teams Tuesday the referee and umpire for the game were selected. The game will begin at 8 o'clock and fully 400 people are expected to attend.
