Ex-Vandy, Belmont Coach Dies
Wayne Dobbs, who was the men's basketball coach at Belmont (1964-66) and Vanderbilt (1976-79), died after suffering a heart attack Feb. 7 He was 75.
Dobbs coached basketball and baseball at Belmont before moving to George Washington (1966-70) and then Vanderbilt, where he started out as an assistant on coach Roy Skinner's staff.
After Skinner retired, Dobbs became the Commodores' coach and posted a 38-42 record over the next seasons.
The funeral is Monday in Dobb's hometown of Smyrna, Ga.
