Obituary - Cedar Rapids (IA) Gazette (January 25, 1938)
KALONA - Relatives here received word of the sudden death of Anthony W. Chez at his home in Lewisburg, Ohio.
Mr. Chez was born south of Kalona 63 years ago and attended Richmond school He was a graduate of Harvard and of a theological seminary. After serving in the ministry for a number of years he accepted a position as professor of West Virginia University, resigning to aid his country overseas during the World War in Y.M.C.A. work.
He is survived by his wife; two brothers, John of Washington and Joseph, now attorney general of Utah; and one sister, Mrs. John Musil of Audobon, New Jersey. He was an uncle of Frank Chez, Jr., Mrs. Joe Malitchky, Mrs. Lloyd Stagner and Mrs. Fred Patsander, all of this community.
